Full and Part-Time Emergency Telecommunicator Position(s)

 

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Deputy Director and Dispatch Supervisors, the Emergency Telecommunicator (Dispatcher) receives, processes and dispatches 9-1-1 calls and non-emergency calls for police, fire and/or emergency medical services, maintains a customer service attitude and has the ability to handle a large volume of calls or contacts, sometimes under stressful conditions, as required.

Wage:                                                   Full-Time $15.67 - $21.87 per hour (7 steps)

                                                                Part-Time Start Pay - $13.01 After 2080 hours worked - $14.75 After         4160 hours worked - $15.60

 

Minimum Requirements:             High School diploma or GED.  Basic LEIN training or completion within twelve (12) months. Medical Priority Dispatch EMD training or completion within twelve (12) months.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and remain calm in emergency situations, required.   Data entry or related computer experience with ability to read maps, ability to distinguish colors and other printed material required.  Preferably two (2) years experience demonstrating ability to maintain confidentiality and loyalty.  Michigan Driver’s License, proof of insurance and own transportation, required.

 

Status:                                                  Combined 8 and 12 hour shift work

Executive Administrative Assistant Position

 

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Executive Administrative Assistant performs a variety of secretarial, administrative, and human resources support duties.  These duties include but are not limited to:  accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, schedule/arrange appointments, and prepare responses to F.O.I.A. requests.  A complete job description for this position is posted on our website at www.calhouncounty911/employment.html.

 

Wage Scale:   $19.96 - $24.27 per hour (5 steps)

 

Minimum Requirements: Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Basic knowledge of modern office procedures, standard office equipment, office software applications (word processing, databases, and spreadsheets), governmental functions, accounting principles, and Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act. 

 

Two to Four (2-4) years of progressive secretarial or office management experience is preferred.  One to three (1-3) years in Public Administration. Experience should demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and loyalty as well as ability to communicate and work with other departments and agencies. 

 

Status: Full-Time – 40 hours per week
